Diabetic mold as with the Pelite mold, the body of the Diabetic mold is made with pelite, and topped with a 3-ounce cowhide leather. The bottom is finished with 1/16 inch absorbafoam. The difference is, the Diabetic Mold contains pelite material which is kept thick so we may add deep apertures to alleviate ulcerated lesions. All of our Diabetic Molds have a 1/8 inch Spenco covering. Because these molds are thick, the patient must wear a shoe with a removable innersole. If you send us a tracing of this innersole with your order, we can finish it to the exact size of the tracing. If toe fillers are needed, a tracing of the patients feet in full weight-bearing will let us see how far the foot splays forward, and we will know where to begin the toe filler.
